Make a difference with Random Acts of Kindness by Paying it Forward

Pay it Forward

by Mari-Lyn on July 2, 2009

I absolutely love this movie.

It is really simple. You want to know how you can make a difference? Find 3 people to help everyday. It’s always the small simple acts that make the BIG difference. Even though the movie suggests 3 big things to pay it forward and you feel you just can’t help in this way, start small and grow up your deeds into big ones.

On You Tube there are several different video’s people have recorded to get a movement going. Get the movie, watch it and get inspired again.

Remember, 3 kind acts a day will make a BIG difference.

I teach several courses at Spirit Life School of Ministry (www.spiritlifeschool.org) , In one of themcourses, I challenged my students to do just one act of kindness for someone else and come back and tell us about it. Well, to say the least, it was contagious! Each and every week, I received such good reports of what the students were doing for others and how it would come back to bless them. I hope I sparked a desire in them to continue this exercise. Through this, your world gets bigger because you stop looking at yourself all the time!
Have fun with it!

I find that whenever I am not in a good space mentally or emotionally, one of the best things I can do for others (and then ultimately receiving great internal satisfaction), is holding the door open for someone behind you. Some don't thank you, but others are so surprised when you do (especially as a young adult who is supposed to be more focused on my cell phone than those walking behind me!). Holding a door is something someone can do for somebody every day.
